In recent years the popularity of online, electronic books, more commonly known as e-books, has increased significantly. This surge in popularity can be put down to the increased number of people who have access to the internet who are now able to access commodities such as ebooks, which were previously only restricted to those who had internet access in their own homes. E-books function in much the same way a normal book would do, only that the content of the book is stored electronically, rather than on printed paper. You can read e-books on your computer, however many people do not find the idea of reading a lengthy novel from a computer screen, so they may invest in an e-book reader instead.

E-book readers can be purchased from a variety of different retailers, most high street electronics shops will have a selection available and they’re also commonly available from online merchants. They are around the size of a typically paperback book and feature a large screen. E-books can then be uploaded to these readers so you can take it with you and read your book wherever you go, much in the same way that one would with a traditional printed book.  Many of the websites where e-books are sold and made available for download will also be able to sell e-book readers to their customers as well as many other products that may be of interest to somebody who reads e-books.
